Finance & Impact Marketing Intern
|

The Finance and Impact Marketing (FIM) Intern, under direct supervision of KALI’s Executive Director, will support the organization to develop a computerized financial system, and an Impact Marketing process. The computerized financial system will aim to streamline the current workflow by combining multiple program finances into one integrated system; reducing time spent on internal financial accounting, and ensuring a simplified process in generating financial reports for different donors. The development of the Impact Marketing process primarily refers to providing training and ensuring strategic and appropriate sharing of KALI’s program successes, best practices and lessons learned.
Work done by the FIM intern will enable KALI to expand its reach beyond the 825,000 beneficiaries the organization currently serves. Successful completion of the internship will help KALI’s human rights advocacy program to grow and expand to additional sub-counties. In addition, the intern will have an opportunity to observe first hand how his/her work will build KALI’s current initiatives in promoting good governance and accountability at the district level. Specifically, KALI works with grassroots groups comprised of women, youth and marginalized individuals to ensure their voices and demands are heard. Ultimately, the goal is to empower the civil society to be able to track public expenditure, and demand for proper health, education, water and sanitation services.
The intern will spend 80% of the time in-office with 20% travel to the field. Typical work schedule for the intern will be Monday – Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm. KALI has 10 full time staff, and 1 volunteer based in office. The organization has 5 laptops and all staff know how to use basic computer software.

B. Impact Marketing (approx. 30% of the time)
C. Training (approx. 30% of the time)
D. Administrative Support (5% of the time)

Supervision and Guidance
The Intern will be directly supervised by the Executive Director and is expected to carry out most job functions independently.
