Global health graduate students interviews a local health worker.
Isla recruits interns to assist our local partner organizations on a 9-26-week internship. Typically, interns will have the education, skills, and/or the work experience to meet the needs of the local organizations. For example:
Would you like to contribute your social entrepreneurship knowledge to help a small business develop and have a social impact?
Can you help an organization create and execute a communications plan to share their message with the community regarding advocacy for human rights, public health, women and youth empowerment, and other social issues?
Do you have the financial planning skills to help an agricultural coop get its house in order?
Does your experience working with youth inspire you to become an advocate for youth reproductive health and rights education?
What will I be doing from day to day? Our local partner organizations have identified specific needs and seek an intern with the right combination of interest and knowledge to work with them to address a specific organizational need. Your initial Scope of Work, which is created by your host organization, is the foundation of your internship experience. A work plan, developed by you and your supervisor, will guide you throughout your internship experience. One day you may be organizing or facilitating a training while another day you might be implementing a survey to local households. Each position is unique and tailored to match and grow your skills while you provide valuable support to your host organization.
