Isla Internships Abroad has partnered with the Rochester Institute of Technology Kosovo to combine a global development internship with one or more of Isla's local partner organizations and an academic summer program.
Isla will place undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals in up to 9-week global development internships with one of our leading local and international partner organizations, social enterprises, and other institutions before or after a 5-week academic program conducted by leading academics, specialists, and NGO activities identified by RIT-Kosovo.
The five week Peace & Conflict Summer Program component of the Isla internship program is conducted by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT-Kosovo). The program gives interns the tools to analyze the history, politics and economics of contemporary, conflict. Participants will increase their understanding of conflict dynamics, establish new networks of friends, and have fun in a safe, multicultural environment.
Rochester Institute of Technology's branch campus in Kosovo (RIT-Kosovo) opens the 5-week academic program with a 1-week study tour of four Balkan countries followed by a 4-week academic program.
Interns may choose two of the following courses to earn a total of 6 academic credits, accredited in the U.S. through Rochester Institute of Technology - New York (including Master Level). The courses are taught by leading academics, senior civilian and military officials, NGO activists with hands-on experience in the Balkans, Middle East and elsewhere.
Participants come from all over the world with a common interest in studying peace and conflict in a new country that has not yet fully recovered from its own conflict. The classroom experience is enhanced by regional travel and day trips that highlight the Balkan’s cultural diversity.

"Dear Isla, Thank you all so much for your help in and out of the program. Without you all at Isla we would not have been able to experience Kosovo the way that all of us students have. I truly believe that with the help of Isla , our experiences have been elevated."
