Biodiversity at the Black Sea

Intern with a Bulgarian NGO dedicated to nature conservation, particularly in regions like the Central Balkans, Pirin National Park, Burgas Wetlands, Strandzha Nature Park, Osogovo, and Belasitsa. They've been active for over two decades, focusing on civic involvement, environmental legislation, sustainable business models, and raising awareness about biodiversity.


Interns will work on projects in Burgas, Black Sea, such as:


The Lagoon of Life Project: This project aims to restore the unique biodiversity of Atanasovsko Lake, a protected coastal wetland. It focuses on conserving endangered bird species, promoting educational and sustainable tourism activities, and assisting in sea salt production.


Life for Pomorie Lagoon: The objectives include improving water management infrastructure, sustaining salt production, enhancing bird breeding sites, and raising awareness about Pomorie Lake's importance for migrating waders.


Internship opportunities cover a wide range of roles, including wetland management, ecological education, habitat restoration, bird conservation, economic sustainability, halophyte plant research, and spatial analysis.
