Decarbonization of Heating Sector
Intern with a regional initiative based in Kosovo, dedicated to advocating and promoting sustainable development in the Western Balkans. The foundation focuses on key areas such as sustainable economic development, environmental protection, energy development, and climate change. The foundation is a leader in the region, advancing sustainable practices through policy advocacy and project development.
Summary of Projects and Internships:
Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to research on alternative heating systems that are healthier, more economical, and sustainable. Responsibilities may include event planning, advocacy and educational campaigns, communications, and other tasks as needed. Interns will work under the supervision and support of the host organization.
Key Programs and Projects:
Balkan Energy Prospect:An online regional mapping platform providing information on energy sources in six Western Balkan countries.
Analyzes and disseminates energy information, promoting public understanding of energy flow, economy, and the environment.
Balkan Green Ideas (BGI):Stimulates entrepreneurs in the Western Balkans to generate green business ideas.
Encourages sustainable and green policies among young people, connecting green activists and supporting green initiatives and businesses.
Green Rural Deal:Aims to transition to a zero-carbon economy in rural regions.
Supports and empowers municipalities through local capacity building and co-creation of concrete projects.
Balkan Green Academy (BGA):Educates young people on policy, economics, and society, fostering a cross-sectoral and transdisciplinary approach.
Multi-Stakeholder Cooperation for Transformative Environmental Action:Intensifies collaboration with energy and environment stakeholders and Members of Parliament.
Advocates for cleaner and sustainable policies, promoting the Green Deal.
Internship Opportunity:
Position: Communications and PR Intern
Responsibilities:
Compile success stories of beneficiaries.
Conduct interviews and document activities through photos and video clips.
Assist in event planning, advocacy campaigns, and communications.
Contribute to report/grant writing, editing, and proofreading in English.
Requirements:
Pursuing or holding a degree in environmental sciences, international studies, public policy, communications, or related fields.
Initiative-taking ability and willingness to work in both office and field settings.
Motivation to work effectively in an inter-cultural team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility.
Willingness to learn and understand cross-cultural differences, Kosovo's culture, history, and current events.
Interns may be assigned to work on projects such as Green Cross, RISE (Regional Incubator for Social Entrepreneurs), or Environmental Capacity Building of Data Use in Kosovo based on their skills and the organization's needs.
