Intern with a unique organization near Bharatpur, Rajasthan, just 25 miles from the Taj Mahal. This initiative serves over 5,000 individuals in 29 homes across India and Nepal, offering a sanctuary to those less fortunate.
Regardless of their background, the organization extends its compassionate reach to those who are physically or mentally afflicted, abandoned by their families, and victims of abuse or homelessness. Known as Prabhujis, these individuals receive shelter, food, clothing, medical attention, and hope from a dedicated team of volunteers, staff, and doctors in ashrams located across Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, with an international presence in Nepal since February 2019.
Separate buildings cater to women, children, the elderly, the mentally disabled, and the sick. Prabhujis face various health challenges, including HIV, TB, cancer, epilepsy, leprosy, paralysis, polio, and sensory impairments. The organization conducts more than 80 surgeries each month, and a specialized hospital opened its doors in February 2019 to meet this demand.
For those interested in making a meaningful impact, the organization is currently seeking educators with expertise in early childhood education and Montessori philosophy to offer internships ranging from 9 weeks to one year. This provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education, teacher training, special needs education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, public health, and social work within a center dedicated to assisting the destitute.
