Entrepreneurship and Social Impact
Intern with a non-governmental organization based at the University of Pristina, the national university of Kosovo. The organization's mission is to provide University of Prishtina students with the tools and skill set to bring their ideas to life and help them become successful entrepreneurs and innovators.
The Isla Intern will provide support to one or more of the following project areas:
1. The Incubation program aims to assess and develop startup ideas by providing coaching and mentoring by industry experts and the staff, and access financial resources.
2. Experiential Learning aims to offer a unique opportunity for all students to utilize all the resources focusing on their personal development through workshops and training.
3. The Social Impact project aims to educate and activate the future leaders of social and environmental change, by strengthening the capacity of individuals and groups of students.
4. Tech Transfer aims to increase the efficient use of research and development methods through initiating use of labs within the organization's facilities to research.
5. The Green Hub Program More specifically, the intern is expected to be involved in a new project financed by the United Nations Development Pro (UNDP). To contribute to COVID-19 economic recovery, The Green Hub Program targets existing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in tourism to transition towards environmental sustainability. The program will also support the diversification of other MSMEs into the tourism value chain in areas such as handicrafts and agriculture. Additionally, the program targets new tourism initiatives by youth and students at the University of Prishtina and beyond. Emphasis will be given to the adoption of COVID-19-safe and environmentally sustainable practices.
