Water Resources Conservation

Intern with a regional initiative in Kosovo dedicated to advocating and promoting sustainable development in the Western Balkans. This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to projects focusing on sustainable economic development, environmental protection, energy development, and climate change. 


The foundation actively engages in regional cooperation, social innovation, and sustainable development to create positive impacts in the Western Balkans.


Internship Summary:

Interns will have the opportunity to engage in research on critical issues related to water quality, water supply preservation, prevention of groundwater contamination, and water conservation. Under the guidance and support of the host organization, interns will actively contribute to the foundation's initiatives.


Projects:

  1. GREEN CROSS – Towards Local Green Economies with Smart Investments:Objective: Contribute to sustainable economic growth in the cross-border Western Balkan region through integrated policy, smart public investments, and capacity development.

  2. Balkan Green Ideas (BGI):Objective: Stimulate and encourage entrepreneurs in the Western Balkans to generate green business ideas, promoting sustainable and green policy among young people and connecting green activists for sustainable youth initiatives.

  3. Green Rural Deal:Objective: Develop local capacities for a transition to a zero-carbon economy in rural regions of the Western Balkans through capacity building, peer-to-peer learning, and co-creation of concrete projects.

  4. Balkan Green Academy (BGA):Objective: Educate young people on policy, economics, and society with a cross-sectoral and transdisciplinary approach, encouraging knowledge building for sustainable development.

  5. Multi-Stakeholder Cooperation for Transformative Environmental Action:Objective: Intensify collaboration with energy and environment stakeholders and Members of Parliament to promote the Green Deal and advocate for cleaner and sustainable policies.

Internship Requirements:

Isla is seeking interns pursuing or holding a university degree in environmental sciences, environmental conservation, natural resources, sustainable energy, international studies, public policy, communications, public relations, English, creative writing, or related fields. Key attributes include initiative, ability to work independently, motivation, commitment to effective teamwork, excellent interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, flexibility, and understanding of cross-cultural differences, Kosovo's culture, history, and current events.


Interns may be involved in research, environmental advocacy, public campaigns, public relations, communications, report/grant writing, editing, and proofreading in English. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to contribute to sustainable development efforts in the region.
