Wildlife Conversation - Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Breeding

Intern with a regional initiative based in Bulgaria focused on sustainable development in the Western Balkans. This initiative emphasizes sustainable economic development, environmental protection, energy development, and climate change. They work to promote policies and projects that address biodiversity conservation, habitat restoration, sustainable natural resource management, improvement of nature conservation policy, and environmental education.

The organization operates a wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center, established to treat, rehabilitate, reproduce, and release rare and endangered wildlife. The center specializes in:

  1. Treating and rehabilitating distressed rare species for their return to the wild.

  2. Reproducing rare birds of prey with permanent disabilities.

  3. Developing programs for the re-introduction and support of various endangered species.

  4. Providing shelter for confiscated rare wildlife.

  5. Conducting educational activities and environmental youth programs.

Interns have the opportunity to work on projects related to the reintroduction of the Black Vulture, the conservation of the Egyptian Vulture, the recovery of the Lesser Kestrel population, and the reintroduction of the Saker Falcon. These projects aim to restore endangered species and protect their habitats while involving the local community and raising awareness about environmental conservation.
