
Youth Human Rights Advocacy

Isla Intern will have the opportunity to intern at a local non-governmental and non-profit organization based in Prishtina, Kosovo. The organization is dedicated to promoting human rights, civic values, and dealing with the past, with a particular focus on protecting victims of human rights abuse, promoting the rule of law, and empowering young people in the Western Balkans.
Internship Program Areas:
Human Rights and Rule of Law Program:
- In collaboration with the organization, monitor, document, and report on human rights violations, law enforcement, and human rights protection mechanisms.
- Contribute to activities aimed at defending and promoting human rights in Kosovo and the broader region.
2. Dealing with the Past Program:
- Support initiatives and awareness-raising efforts related to dealing with the past and building peace in Kosovo and the region.
- Engage in projects that contribute to creating platforms for dealing with the past and fostering collective memory.
3. Youth Empowerment Program:
- Focus on empowering young people to become active participants in social and political life at various levels.
- Contribute to educational initiatives and capacity-building activities for youth engagement in human rights protection and advocacy.
- Facilitate connections among young people from the region and beyond to reduce prejudice and stereotypes.
Overall Objectives:
- Gain hands-on experience in human rights monitoring, dealing with the past initiatives, and youth empowerment programs.
- Contribute to projects and activities that promote human rights, rule of law, and youth engagement in Kosovo and the Western Balkans.
- Collaborate with the organization to support its mission of building a responsible and progressive society.
