Program Overview
Intern with an organization committed to promoting sustainable fashion practices that work to combat environmental, social, and economic concerns.
As the second largest source of pollution in the world, the clothing industry has severe effects on the environment from production phases to disposal methods. As India’s fashion industry continues to grow, it presents many opportunities for new and creative environmentally conscious methods.
This organization is dedicated to promoting sustainable fashion across India, with a focus on highlighting its diverse cultural heritage, eco-friendly materials, and low-impact production practices. Their goal is to revolutionize the ethical fashion sector by collaborating with local artisans and showcasing the country's unique blend of tradition and innovation.
Through eco-friendly initiatives and partnerships with local communities, you will contribute to elevating India's position in the world of fashion while fostering positive economic, environmental, and social impact.
Tasks Included
Depending on the Intern’s skill set and interest, the Intern will be assigned to one or more of the following projects associated with the sustainable fashion in India:

Requirements
Isla seeks interns who share a commitment to supporting sustainability as a tool for economic and social development.
Skills & Abilities include:

University undergraduate and graduate students, and young professionals working on a degree (or who have graduated in fields) in fashion design, environmental science, sustainability studies, English, creative writing, or other-related fields.

Willingness to take initiative and work under minimal guidance in both office and field settings.

Motivated and committed to work effectively as part of an inter-cultural team.

Excellent interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn.

Be flexible and work to understand diverse cultures, history, and relative current events.
What Is Covered
Isla will work closely with your university to assist with academic credit requirements for your internship and in regard to the transfer of credit for participation in classes at the university. The following is included within the program so that you can focus primarily on the work at hand and be supported each step of the way!

Pre-departure guide and assistance with preparations (packing list, language modules, cultural guidance, etc)
